On May 19, 2013 the Ukrainian state flag was flown at half-staff at the Embassy of Ukraine to the UAE to mark the Day of remembrance for the victims of political repressions.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez and the Embassy staff paid tribute to the memory of the victims of political repressions in Ukraine by a minute of silence.
