On July 4, 2011 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez had a meeting with Mohammed Saif Al Shehhi Director of European Affairs of the UAE Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting they discussed a wide range of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the UAE and stressed the need to maintain regular political dialogue at the highest level by organizing appropriate visits.

In addition the parties discussed the possibility of joining the UAE to the list of donors of the Chernobyl Fund. According to Mohammed Al Shehhi Emirates study seriously the question of financing the construction of "Shelter".

In the context of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE special emphasis was placed on the implementation of agreements reached during the constituent session of the Intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which was held in Kiev on 17-19 May 2011.
