On February 5, 2012 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates Yuriy Polurez presented his credentials to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani the Emir of the State of Qatar.

After the official welcoming ceremony the Ambassador of Ukraine and the Emir of Qatar held separate talks. Qatari leader congratulated Ukrainian diplomat on his high appointment and called for establishing a regular political dialogue as a key to further fruitful cooperation between two countries. During the meeting it was noted that Ukrainian-Qatar relations had witnessed a very dynamic development. They also stressed the readiness to expand bilateral cooperation. In this context the Emir of Qatar welcomed the results of his visit to Kyiv in October, 2011 and negotiations with President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
