2-3 March, 2014 Russian Federation was building up their troops on the sovereign territory of Ukraine in Crimea, increasing numbers of armed vehicles, armaments, warfare munitions and equipment, gearing up the numbers of their navy troops and other forces of the Baltic and North Fleet of Russian Federation. Moreover, there is a credible information that Russian Federation is building up additional forces along the eastern border with Ukraine near Chernigiv, Sumi, Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine.
RF continues to exert concentrated efforts to further destabilize the situation in Crimea, in particular provoking Ukrainian armed forces to open fire first. Russian Federation is making active steps to force Ukrainian officers and soldiers in Crimea to desert, break their oath, lay down the arms and join the RF armed forces and separatists forces in Crimea.
Ukraine is focusing on efforts mainly in the political and diplomatic domain, aimed to stop and prevent aggression from Russian Federation, mobilize the international community in support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine by means of political and other necessary assistance.
In the meanwhile Armed Forces of Ukraine are set on high alert, Ukrainian soldiers and officers are trying to deter and contain mounting pressure from armed forces of the Russian Federation. All the governmental bodies of Ukraine are focused on not allowing the provocations and their authors to reach its goals. However, we are ready to take all the necessary measures to counter probable escalation of aggression. Present time we see absolutely no provocative actions from Ukrainian side towards the RF armed forces, citizens of Russian Federation in Ukraine or the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine.
In defending its territorial integrity and sovereignty Ukraine has received the overwhelming support from the majority of countries within the framework of the United Nations, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, European Union and Parliament Assembly of NATO.
International community demands Russian Federation to stop interfering in internal affairs of Ukraine and calls on RF to keep up to its commitments according to the UN Charter, Helsinki Final Act, the Budapest Memorandum of 1994 and relevant bilateral agreements with Ukraine, whereas the dialogue is the only instrument of resolving the current crisis.
