On March 27, 2014 Acting Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mr. Andrii Deshchytsia took part at the UN General Assembly's meeting on Ukraine on the agenda item 33(b) - Prevention of armed conflict: strengthening the role of mediation in the peaceful settlement of disputes and conflict prevention.

During the debates on the Russia's aggression against Ukraine and annexation of Crimea a resolution "Territorial integrity of Ukraine" (A/RES/68/262) has been adopted.
By a vote of 100 in favour to 11 against, with 58 abstentions, the 193-member Assembly called on all States, international organizations and specialized agencies not to recognize any alteration of the status of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol on the basis of so-called referendum and to refrain from any action or dealing that might be interpreted as recognizing any such altered status. The resolution reaffirms the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
