A high-level meeting on climate change «Abu Dhabi Ascent» organized by the UN and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of UAE was held in Abu Dhabi 4-5 May, 2014. The forum is considered as a preparatory stage for the upcoming Climate Summit to be held in New York September 23, 2014.

During the presentations and discussions participants underscored that the international community must continue taking practical steps to combat the negative impact of climate change. These steps aim at reducing the air pollution, improving public health, mitigating the negative implications of natural disasters, development of a cleaner, more efficient and affordable energy sources.

At the forum Ukraine was represented by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UAE Yuriy Polurez.
