On the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and as part of Ukraine Month in the UAE, the Embassy hosted a special screening of the Ukrainian anthology film “War Through the Eyes of Animals” in Dubai.

The film is a profound and moving work that, through the stories of animals, conveys real accounts of Russia’s war against Ukraine, addressing themes of compassion, humanity, resilience, and moral choice under extraordinary circumstances. Through metaphorical and emotionally powerful narratives, it offers a universal perspective on war that resonates across cultures.

The screening was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, the Ukrainian community in the UAE, representatives of the business community, and friends of Ukraine.

The film elicited a strong emotional response from the audience and provided a basis for thoughtful reflection and discussion following the viewing. Many attendees noted its sincerity, artistic strength, and its ability to foster a renewed understanding of the tragedy of war through a humanistic lens.
