On June 13, 2010 Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine to the UAE Oleksandr Khom’iak held a meeting with Foreign Minister’s Assistant, Director of energy and climate changes Department of MFA of the UAE and CEO of Masdar company Sultan Ahmed Al Jabber.

During the meeting a number of issues concerning the cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE in the field of renewable energy sources were discussed. Sultan Al Jabber expressed his interest in intensification of this kind of cooperation.

Taking into consideration that Abu Dhabi hosts the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) headquarter Emirati official expressed his hope that Ukraine will join the organization in the nearest future.

Besides that Sultan Al Jabber told about implementation of Masdar City project, the world's first carbon-neutral zero waste city. He also invited Ukrainian companies to take part in the annual World Future Energy Summit which will be held on January 17-20 2011 in Abu Dhabi.
