On May 8, 2015 solemn meeting on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation was held at the Embassy of Ukraine to the UAE (Abu Dhabi). The event was attended by Ukrainian soldiers who were wounded in the ATO area (they will be in the UAE till May 14 to have a rest and for the rehabilitation purposes), activists of the Ukrainian community in the UAE, chaplain of the Ukrainian community in the UAE father Yuri, and also Ukrainian Embassy staff.

Representatives of the Main Military Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Ukraine (who were the members of the group of Ukrainian servicemen mentioned above) presented the Embassy staff and the activists of Ukrainian community in the UAE with the commemorative awards of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and with the letter of appreciation from the Ministry for the provided assistance.

During the event the photos, audio and video footage prepared by the Institute of National Memory of Ukraine, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, and to the Victory Day were being demonstrated by the Embassy.

The solemn gathering was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Ukrainian national emotional warmth, dishes of Ukrainian and local cuisine, pleasant communication and solemn program were the factors which contributed to that atmosphere.
