President Petro Poroshenko emphasizes that the Armed Forces have a new and well-trained army due to the new approaches to the training. "We will not surrender a single meter of our land. Highly qualified Armed Forces are the precondition for this," the Head of State told journalists in Chuhuiv.

"Today, we have absolutely new approaches to the quality of AFU training. Ukrainian militaries are equipped, trained and armed," the President noted.

Qualitative changes in the command staff of the army have been held. According to the President, about 80% of brigade commanders have been substituted. "100% of commanders have combat experience in the ATO area," the President said. Personnel reserve includes 1500 servicemen, officers and generals.

"To date, commanders of platoons, companies, battalions and brigades enjoy unconditional authority among soldiers," the President emphasized. The Head of State reminded that the Ukrainian warriors rebuffed the attempts of Russian terrorist troops to break through the Ukrainian defense lines in the area of Maryinka and Novolaspa.

Particular attention was paid to the defense capacity of Mariupol and training of naval infantry units that also received new equipment today. "Today, over 2000 marines defend Mariupol. In the next 2 weeks, the defense will be reinforced," the President informed. According to him, marines demonstrated high level of preparation. "Sea borders of Ukraine are secure. Mariupol district is under reliable protection," Petro Poroshenko said.
