The Ukrainian school "Dyvosvit" in Abu Dhabi, which operates at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE, celebrated the birthday of the great Kobzar with a literary quiz “Shevchenko’s experts”.

Students enthusiastically immersed themselves in the story of life and work of the famous Ukrainian poet, artist and thinker, trying to remember the maximum number of interesting facts, figures and events from the life of a prominent son of the Ukrainian people.

In particular, the children learned that Taras Shevchenko was an extremely educated man, actively engaged in self-education, he read a lot and never stopped fighting challenges of fate and always cherished hope for the best. It was in difficult conditions in exile when the poet created one of his masterpieces - "The cherry orchard around the house" in which he depicted the unsurpassed image of Ukraine.

And then the healthy competition spirit covered the participants of the quiz and helped them to demonstrate excellent knowledge about the life and the art path of Kobzar.

During Shevchenko’s holiday children recited poems "The cherry orchard around the house", "Spring has risen", read an excerpt from the poem "Princess" and the comedy "Dream". For this competition "Shevchenko’s art" students received diplomas.

Since Taras Hryhorovych became famous also as an artist, the children also dedicated part of the holiday to painting, creating a series of portraits of Kobzar.

In the end, honoring the genius Ukrainian poet, artist and fighter for the freedom of the people, the legendary "Testament" was recited.
