The Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE congratulates the Ukrainian National Team on their achievements at the Para Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Abu Dhabi.
On 13 November 2025, Abu Dhabi hosted the Para Jiu-Jitsu World Championship — a competition that brought together veterans from many countries around the world, including Brazil, Sweden, the UAE, the United Kingdom, Poland, Romania, Japan, Ireland, Italy, France, and Spain.
Ukraine was represented by a team of ten of our warriors who endured the hardest trials of Russia’s aggression, sustained severe injuries, yet preserved what is most important — inner strength, dignity, and unbreakable spirit.
Today, they continue to win — now on the sports tatami.
🏆 Our heroes claimed world medals:
• Artem Kuzmych — Gold
• Vasyl Oksentiuk — Gold
• Mykhailo Drobatенко — Silver
• Mykhailo Kucherenko — Silver
• Oleksandr Dashko — Bronze
• Ruslan Sumin — Bronze
These medals are more than a sporting result.
They are victories of Ukrainian courage.
They are proof that even after serious injuries, loss of limbs, pain, and long rehabilitation, our veterans find the strength to rise, to train, and to continue competing.
🤝 Ahead of the championship, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UAE, Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa, met with the Ukrainian team
During a warm and sincere meeting, the Ambassador conveyed words of support from the entire Ukrainian community in the Emirates and thanked the athletes for their courage, discipline, and resilience.
This personal interaction and support mean a great deal to every veteran who continues the journey of recovery and reintegration into active life.
