On 24 August 2025, celebrations of Ukraine’s Independence Day took place in the United Arab Emirates.

At the Embassy of Ukraine, a moment of silence was observed in memory of those who gave their lives for the freedom of our state. It was emphasized that thanks to the heroism of Ukrainian warriors, we have the opportunity to continue working for Victory and peace.

A key highlight of the celebrations was the immersive exhibition “Light Through the Ages: Ukrainian Heritage” in Dubai. In his address, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UAE, Oleksandr Balanutsa, noted that Independence Day is a symbol of the strength, resilience, and unity of the Ukrainian people. He expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian community in the Emirates for their dedication and support, stressing that they are an integral part of the great Ukrainian family.

In Abu Dhabi, a solemn gathering of the Ukrainian community took place. The National Anthem of Ukraine was performed, a moment of silence was observed, and participants formed a symbolic “chain of unity.” The festive atmosphere was enriched by performances of Ukrainian musicians: traditional folk songs on the ancient bandura and piano music.

On this day, Ukrainians in the Emirates not only celebrated the country’s main state holiday but also reaffirmed unity, remembrance, and resilience, carrying the light of Ukraine throughout the world 🌍✨
