On 29 August, Ukraine marks the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of our state.
This date has become a symbol of the resilience of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the ultimate price our people pay for freedom.
This year, the commemoration coincides with a national day of mourning for the victims of the massive missile strike on Kyiv on 28 August.
According to updated reports, 23 civilians were killed, including four children, and more than 30 were injured. This was one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on civilians in Kyiv since the beginning of the year.
As a sign of mourning and remembrance for the fallen Defenders, as well as the victims of yesterday’s attack, the National Flag of Ukraine has been lowered at the Embassy of Ukraine in the UAE.
We remember.
We continue to fight — for every life, every child, for our future.
Glory to the fallen Defenders.
Eternal memory to the innocent victims.
Glory to Ukraine!
