As a result of the artillery shelling of a Ukrainian checkpoint near the settlement of Volnovaha by the pro-Russian terrorists in the Donetsk region on January 13, one of the shells hit a bus. 11 civilians have been killed, 17 – injured. The shelling was carried out from the town of Dokuchayevsk which is under full control of the illegal armed groups. All facts point out that this horrible tragedy was not a coincidence, the terrorists fired at the civilians intentionally.
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko proclaimed January 15 the Day of Mourning for the people murdered by terrorists and first of all those perished in the Volnovakha attack.
The recent Unity March in Paris as well as numerous demonstrations throughout the world have testified that the free democratic society resolutely rejects any attempts of intimidation and terror and confirmed the high value of every human life which had been lost due to violent acts of the international terrorists.
At the same time, the terrorist groups armed and supported by the Russian Federation continue to act openly in the east of Ukraine.
Not only Ukrainian military but also civilians continue to die from the Russian bullets and shells which are illegally brought to Ukraine.
Since its outset, the Russian aggression against Ukraine killed more than 4500 people; 298 passengers of the flight MH17 also became victims of the terrorists supported and equipped by Russia. Since September 5th, 2014, when the ceasefire was officially established, Russian-backed terrorists activity led to the death of 130 civilians in Ukraine. All these innocent victims were killed with Russian weapons that Moscow keeps on ceaselessly supplying to the terrorists in the east of Ukraine. Terrorists must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity - "DNR / FSC" must be recognized as terrorist organizations.
As long as Moscow continues to neglect the Minsk ceasefire agreements and keeps on supporting the illegal armed groups in the east of Ukraine financially, lethally and politically, Russia is more and more asserting itself as a "state supporting international terrorism" holding Ukraine hostage. Therefore blood of innocent Ukrainian civilians and foreigners who had been killed by the pro-russian terrorists, fully remains on the conscience of Russia. Russia has never condemned any of the crimes committed by their wards who are under full control of Moscow, its constant support to the terrorists indicates that in fact Russia shares the ideas and the motives of terrorists.
If international community is determined to fight terrorism elsewhere in the world, while being conscious of the threat that terrorism in all its forms and purposes poses to the civilized world, no country should be dealing or cooperating in any way with those who support terrorism, with those who back terror.
If the world fails to force Russia to abandon its aggression, people will continue to die in Ukraine from the hands of Russian-backed terrorists and Europe will never feel safe again. Thus, stopping the terrorists supported by Russia in eastern Ukraine would be a real step in the global fight against international terrorism.
Stay united against terrorism, stay united for Ukraine.
